The Treasury Department’s Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) Home | Engraving & Printing is responsible for developing and producing U.S. currency notes and being a global standard-bearer for banknotes and document security through manufacturing and innovation excellence to limit counterfeiting.
BEP was established in 1862 and became the exclusive producer of U.S. currency in 1877 History | Engraving & Printing..
